Thrapston Rural Agricultural Centre landscape and visual impact assessment

Client: Henry H Bletsoe and Sons

Landscape and visual impact assessment and landscape scheme for a proposed livestock market with related agricultural merchants and offices to form a rural agricultural centre located on the edge of Thrapston in Northamptonshire.

The site lies within gently rolling countryside on the edge of the Nene Valley south of the A14(T) and adjoining large-scale warehousing. The assessment used desk study constraints information, site survey and photomontages to illustrate the effects. A planting scheme was prepared to soften the appearance of the building and associated parking, to integrate the development into the countryside and to provide a well mannered and positive approach to the scheme.

White Consultants worked closely with the client and a multidisciplinary team to achieve a viable scheme.
