Shrewsbury and Atcham Landscape Sensitivity National Demonstration project
Client: Natural England [formerly Countryside Agency]
Study for Natural England to test a Phase 1 landscape sensitivity study carried out by the Living Landscapes project in relation to its potential to guide development at strategic and site level and to provide the basis for planning policy. The sensitivity was split into cultural, ecological and visibility sensitivity and tranquillity. This second phase study, in collaboration with LLP, amended and added to the method to provide robust landscape information and justification. The grain of the study considered Landscape Description Units, Land Cover parcels and the areas around settlements.
