North Wiltshire Rural Buffers
Client: North Wiltshire District Council
Assessment of the need for rural buffers west of Swindon and around the main settlements in the district to guide development. The assessment covered 8 settlements and worked within the national, regional and local development frameworks. The aims were to protect against coalescence and maintain the separate identity and distinctive character of each settlement. A full justification was provided for each designated area and a GIS product produced to feed into the local authority’s system.
